A story about Mr. Robot

Going into 2017 I had no idea I would finally book television as an actor. With 2018 just starting and things looking brighter than ever I wanted to share a story about Mr. Robot as it was the first TV show I booked and also had to keep quiet about for 6 months until it aired. For those who saw me in episode 5 of season 3, you know I'm in there for a good two minutes. However, this one scene right here in the stairwell was shot a month later after my epic entrance when I march in after the title card. After doing 3 days on set for rehearsal, camera and timing, I was called back after the Art Department flipped the entire location to make the same floor look like a different floor. The whole thing was surreal to me. There I was on a Monday morning at 630AM rehearsing with Sam Esmail, Rami Malek and Carly Chaikin, going over the scene and figuring out the camera cues. Rami, who is the nicest guy, needed help hitting his mark because it was an incredibly difficult long take, so he approached me and said "Zack can you bang on the door at this point?" Me, being in awe working around a bunch of well known Series Regulars, I said of course. I kept my head down and did my job like a pro, even though this was the biggest damn thing I had ever worked on until this point in my acting career. We completely nailed it, and for the first time I really felt like a professional actor, showing up to a film set at 6 in the morning and simply serving the script. Mr. Robot spawned the beginning of my acting career and I will forever be grateful for it. In this business, truly anything goes. And right now, I just can't wait to get back to work.
